National Bank of Egypt Rewards 60 Cardholders in Summer Payment Drive

Must read

CAIRO, The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has awarded cash prizes to 60 credit and debit cardholders under its Summer 2026 campaign, part of efforts to encourage electronic payments and strengthen customer engagement.

The July–August promotion offered prizes of up to EGP 600,000 for purchases made in Egypt and abroad. Thirty winners were selected each month, evenly divided between credit and debit cardholders, through random draws supervised by Egypt’s Ministry of Social Solidarity.

Karim Sous, NBE’s Chief Retail Banking Executive, said the campaign reflected growing customer interest in electronic payments and formed part of the bank’s strategy to reward card usage.

Hala Helmy, Head of Products and Financial Inclusion, said the incentives were designed to encourage more frequent card transactions and support Egypt’s financial inclusion objectives.

The initiative highlights how banks are using financial rewards to shift everyday spending towards digital channels. NBE did not disclose the campaign’s total payout or its impact on transaction volumes.
