Egyptian financial technology company Valu has partnered with online travel platform Wego to allow eligible customers to finance flight and hotel bookings through instalment plans of up to 60 months, expanding flexible payment options for travellers in Egypt.
Under the agreement, Wego users booking flights or accommodation will be able to select Valu as their payment method at checkout, enabling them to spread travel costs over extended repayment periods. The integration combines Wego’s travel search and booking platform with Valu’s consumer-finance services.
The move reflects a broader trend towards embedding “buy now, pay later” and consumer-finance solutions into digital commerce platforms as higher travel costs encourage consumers to seek more flexible payment options. For fintech providers, travel represents a growing category for instalment financing because of the relatively high upfront cost of airline tickets and hotel bookings.
Wego Egypt General Manager Mostafa Tawakol said the agreement broadens payment flexibility for Egyptian travellers, while Valu Chief Executive Walid Hassouna said it supports the company’s strategy of expanding its financial services across digital consumer sectors.
The companies did not disclose financial terms or expected transaction volumes. The agreement strengthens Valu’s presence in Egypt’s digital payments ecosystem while providing Wego with an additional financing option as competition intensifies among travel platforms to enhance the customer booking experience. Valu is listed on the Egyptian Exchange under the ticker VALU.CA.
