Dubai-listed operator signs first Egypt agreement as it looks for growth beyond the UAE

CAIRO — Dubai-listed parking operator Parkin Company PJSC has made its first move into Egypt, signing an agreement with three Egyptian companies to explore parking projects as it seeks growth beyond the UAE.

The memorandum of understanding with Modon Misr for Asset & Facility Management, Mwasalat Misr and REDCON Properties covers potential cooperation in smart and public parking, multi-storey car parks, parking planning and demand management.

The agreement is preliminary rather than a committed investment or operating contract. Parkin has not disclosed potential investment, project locations, the number of parking spaces involved or a timetable for implementation.

Egypt’s development of new cities and large mixed-use projects could create demand for professionally managed parking systems. The agreement follows discussions earlier in August between Egyptian housing officials, Modon Misr and Parkin over potential cooperation in developing, managing and operating parking systems in the country’s new urban communities.

Parkin is pursuing the expansion from a position of strong earnings growth. First-half 2026 revenue rose 26 per cent year on year to AED748.3mn ($204mn), while net profit increased 23 per cent to AED 351.4mn. Its portfolio reached about 268,300 parking spaces by the end of the second quarter, spanning public parking and facilities managed for private developers.

Under the Egypt agreement, the partners will assess how Parkin’s technology could be adapted to local operating requirements. Potential applications include number-plate recognition, AI-enabled monitoring and barrierless parking systems.

The agreement remains at an exploratory stage. Its financial impact will depend on whether the talks translate into operating contracts and on their eventual scale and terms.
